The Student Council at St. Joseph Catholic High planned their annual caroling visit to the Trinity Nursing Home. The residents were greeted by the Student Council President, Christopher Taylor, and the caroling group was led by Alex Small. After warming up, the students put on a wonderful show that filled the entire dining hall with song and cheer. Soon the residents enthusiastically were singing along with the students. After the concert and a room filled with applause, students traveled door to door to deliver cookies and other treats to the residents to wish them “Merry Christmas.”

November Rummage Sale a Success!

The Rummage Sale held on November 4th  was  a terrific fund raiser!  Nearly every student volunteered at least two hours of service to make the event happen. Many parents and PTO members also donated much time to price, tag, and help sell at the sale. It was such a smoothly run event that the PTO has decided that we will have a spring rummage sale since this one went so well. Thanks to all who helped!

National “See You at the Pole” Day

St. Joseph's Students and Faculty gather at the Pole for prayer on National SYATP Day.

Sept. 28, 2011, 7 55 AM: Students and Faculty of St. Joseph Catholic School gathered around the flag before school to share scripture, reflections, and to pray to participate in the National “See you at the Pole” day. The student council organized, and led the ceremony, and later in the day sold treats to raise money for the needy. National SYATP or “See You at the Pole” was started in 1990 by teens in Burleson, Texas. It has spread across the country and is usually held the fourth Wednesday in September. The purpose of the national event is to give the students a chance to get together and pray, share their faith.
